德國(guó)VOITH(福伊特)液力偶合器的工作原理以液體為工作介質(zhì)的一種非剛性聯(lián)軸器，又稱(chēng)液力聯(lián)軸器。液力偶合器的泵輪和渦輪組成一個(gè)可使液體循環(huán)流動(dòng)的密閉工作腔，泵輪裝在輸入軸上，渦輪裝在輸出軸上。動(dòng)力機(jī)(內(nèi)燃機(jī)、電動(dòng)機(jī)等)帶動(dòng)輸入軸旋轉(zhuǎn)時(shí)，液體被離心式泵輪甩出。這種高速液體進(jìn)入渦輪后即推動(dòng)渦輪旋轉(zhuǎn)，將從泵輪獲得的能量傳遞給輸出軸。最后液體返回泵輪，形成周而復(fù)始的流動(dòng)。液力偶合器靠液體與泵輪、渦輪的葉片相互作用產(chǎn)生動(dòng)量矩的變化來(lái)傳遞扭矩。它的輸出扭矩等于輸入扭矩減去摩擦力矩，所以它的輸出扭矩恒小于輸入扭矩。液力偶合器輸入軸與輸出軸間靠液體聯(lián)系，工作構(gòu)件間不存在剛性聯(lián)接。液力偶合器的特點(diǎn)是：能消除沖擊和振動(dòng)；輸出轉(zhuǎn)速低于輸入轉(zhuǎn)速，兩軸的轉(zhuǎn)速差隨載荷的增大而增加；過(guò)載保護(hù)性能和起動(dòng)性能好，載荷過(guò)大而停轉(zhuǎn)時(shí)輸入軸仍可轉(zhuǎn)動(dòng)，不致造成動(dòng)力機(jī)的損壞；當(dāng)載荷減小時(shí)，輸出軸轉(zhuǎn)速增加直到接近于輸入軸的轉(zhuǎn)速，使傳遞扭矩趨于零。液力耦合器的傳動(dòng)效率等于輸出軸轉(zhuǎn)速與輸入軸轉(zhuǎn)速之比。一般液力偶合器正常工況的轉(zhuǎn)速比在0.95以上時(shí)可獲得較高的效率。液力偶合器的特性因工作腔與泵輪、渦輪的形狀不同而有差異。它一般靠殼體自然散熱，不需要外部冷卻的供油系統(tǒng)。如將液力偶合器的油放空，偶合器就處于脫開(kāi)狀態(tài)，能起離合器的作用。
