如果這其中一半的“節(jié)省”傳遞給英國國內(nèi)的消費者，那么他們平均每年電費將下降50英鎊。
主要有三種儲能類型：批量、分布式以及迅速性。國際能源機構(gòu)(IEA)同時表示，儲能技術(shù)或許能夠幫助地球“實現(xiàn)一個低碳的未來”。
英國碳信托有限公司的創(chuàng)新主任Andrew Lever在一份聲明中指出，能源儲存長期以來一直被視為英國低碳能能源行業(yè)的靈丹妙藥，英國通過以該技術(shù)提供一套服務(wù)來平衡能源系統(tǒng)，使電力網(wǎng)絡(luò)更有效率并幫助英國在成本情況下，實現(xiàn)碳排放目標。

但是Lever補充道，存儲技術(shù)因未能巧妙地融入現(xiàn)有監(jiān)管框架，從而顛覆了傳統(tǒng)知識體系。目前的監(jiān)管框架一直圍繞“電力從大型集中式發(fā)電廠提供給消費者”這一能源體系。
Lever繼續(xù)解釋道，目前儲能技術(shù)的未來舞臺非常廣闊，但是由于“過時的市場框架”令相關(guān)技術(shù)部署仍面臨挑戰(zhàn)。
